Police Internship Program

April 17, 2023

The Middleton Police Department is NO LONGER accepting applications for our 2023 internship program.   We offer a rewarding program that provides work experience that will complement academic degrees and help provide a foundation of knowledge as you enter into the law enforcement field.

As an intern, you will be able to experience and observe the day-to-day operations and functions of the Middleton Police Department.  In addition, you will be able to support the department and its employees in the performance of authorized functions, as well as learn and observe general law enforcement methods and assess the police profession firsthand.

During your internship, you will be assigned to a sworn police officer and report for duty for their assigned shift.  Our officers work 8-hour shifts on a rotation of six days on, three days off.  You will be provided uniform attire and equipment, which will remain the property of the Middleton Police Department following the conclusion of the program.

Qualifications for our internship program include being at least 18 years of age, enrolled in an accredited college or university, sanctioned by your university or college, and meet applicable Law Enforcement Standards Board employment requirements.

If you have any questions about our internship program, please contact Community Policing Officer Jake Ungerer at (608)824-7323 or email.
