In March of 2005, the Middleton Police Department hosted its first ever Citizen's Academy. We will once again be conducting a Citizen's Academy in 2023, beginning April 5th and end June 7th.
This ten-week course is expected to start on April 5th with most classes scheduled on Wednesday nights from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The academy is open to anyone who lives or works in the City of Middleton and offers residents the opportunity to learn more about the Middleton Police Department by partaking in hands-on classes similar to those taken by police officers. The class will be presented by officers with the Middleton Police Department.
Students in the Middleton Police Department Citizen's Academy will receive training in the areas of Traffic Law Enforcement, Crime Scene Investigation, Defensive and Arrest Tactics, Emergency Vehicle Operation, Emergency Medical Response, Firearms, Fire Department Response, Police-School Liaison and other Basic Police Procedures.
We are no longer accepting applications for our 2023 citizens academy. If you have any questions regarding the citizens academy, you can contact Community Policing Officer Jake Ungerer at 608-824-7323 or
