LEARN MORE ABOUT US
- Homework Support: Students have space to work independently on homework and can access high school tutors and staff members for homework help on school days from 4-6 pm.
- Homework is an optional choice for YC students. If you would like to require your student to attend the Homework Room or check in on homework completion before participating in other YC activities, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.
- Drop-in Sports & Gym Activities: The gym is open every school day from 4:00-5:00 p.m. (usually until 6:00 p.m.) for Youth Center students. Typically, we run an organized game or sport until 4:45 pm, followed by open gym time.
- Mini-Courses: Weekly structured activities that run from 4-4:45 pm and allow for longer-term projects and skill-building.
- Free Choice: From 4:45-6:00 p.m. on school days, free-choice activities include the gym, video games, board games, art, and social time.
- Mentoring Program: This is an optional opportunity for students who would like 1:1 support from a Youth Center member.
- Each staff member is matched with students with whom they check in on a weekly basis.
- Mentor meetings focus on goal-setting, behavior planning, academic accountability, parent engagement, trauma-informed care, and the development of new programs.
