The Middleton Police Department reports enforcement results from the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
The Middleton Police Department is ringing in the new year with safer roads after wrapping up the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over holiday campaign. This statewide and national effort aims to prevent impaired driving. Officers with the Middleton Police Department made ten OWI arrests between December 12, 2025, and January 1, 2026.
While the focus of the initiative was to eliminate impaired driving, officers also issued citations and made arrests during traffic stops for the following:
- _16___ speeding violations
- _21___ operating after revocation or suspension violations
- _8___ traffic sign or traffic light violations
- _4___ drug arrests
- _3___ felony arrests
During our OWI arrests, three felony charges were issued. Two of those felony charges were for 5th offense OWI arrests, and one was for a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
“Every impaired driving arrest has the potential to save lives on our roads, and we are committed to continuing these efforts throughout the year,” Chief Steven Thompson said. “We need all drivers to recognize that getting behind the wheel while impaired is dangerous and not worth the risk. Please help us keep all travelers safe.”
Impaired driving is preventable:
- If you plan to drink, identify a sober designated driver or find an alternative way home. Use a rideshare service, mass transit, or the Safe Ride Home program.
- Protect yourself and others every time you travel. Watch your speed, buckle up, and phone down. Every trip. Every time.
