Green is the New Gold:
Sustainable Middleton Awards for 2025

The City of Middleton is once again recognizing the people and organizations who help keep the Good Neighbor City green. From environmental education and native landscaping to waste reduction, water conservation, green building design, and sustainable food systems—these awards celebrate the local leaders who are putting sustainability into action.

Now in its fourth year, the Sustainable Middleton Awards highlight how residents, businesses, nonprofits, and City staff are making a meaningful, measurable impact. The program honors those who are educating others, improving environmental practices, reducing harmful effects on people and the planet, or strengthening Middleton’s sustainability infrastructure.

Applications will be accepted January 1 through February 28, 2026, with award recipients announced in April 2026.

Nominees will be evaluated across up to ten sustainability categories, including:
 • Energy (renewable energy, conservation, or efficiency)
 • Land stewardship
 • Environmental education
 • Sustainable food systems
 • Transportation
 • Waste reduction
 • Water conservation and runoff reduction
 • Student leadership
 • Native landscaping
 • And other innovative sustainable practices that benefit the Middleton community

Anyone can nominate a deserving individual, organization, or business — or apply on their own behalf. With a wide range of categories, the awards aim to inspire more residents and local groups to take meaningful steps toward a greener Middleton.
