October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Quick steps to protect your accounts, devices, and family.
Throughout the month, we’re sharing simple actions that make a significant difference. Start with the three tips below—each takes just a couple of minutes.
1) Turn on Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
Add a second step to the login process (either via code or app). Start with email and banking—this blocks most account takeovers.
2) Use Strong, Unique Passwords
Avoid reusing the same password. A password manager helps you create and store unique passwords for every site.
3) Keep Devices Updated
Turn on automatic updates for phones, computers, and smart home devices. Updates fix known security issues.
Spot a Phish Quickly:

Check the sender and hover over links before clicking.
Watch for urgent language, odd spelling, or requests for personal info.
When in doubt, visit the official website directly.
