Middleton Launches “Eyes on the Lines” Safety
Campaign with Mascot Lookout Louie
MIDDLETON – Middleton is putting a bold new spin on pedestrian safety this October with the launch of “Eyes on the Lines” — a citywide crosswalk awareness campaign. The effort pairs bold visuals, catchy rhymes, and a brand-new mascot, Lookout Louie, to grab attention and remind both drivers and walkers that every stripe on the street is a lifeline.
“Crosswalks are an integral part of transportation safety and require full compliance from both motorists and pedestrians. We depend on cautious drivers and careful pedestrians to create a safe commuting environment,” Police Chief Steven Thompson said.
With school back in session and Halloween — the mother of all crosswalk safety days — right around the corner, the campaign brings a fresh, playful energy to an important message: see the stripes, stop in time.
Throughout October, residents will see weekly safety posts, school-friendly materials, and Louie himself popping up online to spread the word. The campaign builds toward a big safety push on Trick-or-Treat night, October 31, when Middleton’s streets fill with little ghosts, superheroes, and princesses eager to cross safely.
Middleton invites everyone — drivers, bikers, and walkers — to join Louie in keeping crosswalks safe. Because in Middleton, we’ve got our Eyes on the Lines, Every Time.
