Middleton Construction Update – August 8, 2025
Summer construction season is in full swing! Here's your weekly roundup of active and upcoming projects across the city:
Lakeview–Stonefield Sidewalk Replacement Project
Crews continue replacing aging sidewalk segments to improve pedestrian safety. The project is moving steadily and is expected to wrap up by mid-August, weather permitting. Temporary sidewalk closures will occur in active work zones. Please follow the posted signs and use caution.
Franklin Avenue Resurfacing (Bristol to Branch)
The binder layer is now complete on Stage 3 (Park St to Mayflower Dr). Payne & Dolan will begin paving Bristol Street, followed by final surface paving across all 3 stages—from Bristol to Mayflower. Expect intermittent lane closures, no on-street parking in active zones, and limited access during working hours.
Parmenter Street Reconstruction (Century to Greenbriar)
Underground pipe work is finished. Crews are now grading, building the road base, and excavating stormwater ponds. Concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk work is underway and progressing in phases. Parmenter remains closed to through traffic, but local access is maintained. No parking zones remain in effect through early October.
Street Surface Program 2025
Resurfacing is underway on Dianne Dr, Mathews Rd, Spring Hill Ct, Knoll Ct, Spring Hill Dr & Lynn St. Surface treatments will begin later this month. No on-street parking during construction (7 a.m.–6 p.m.). Use caution in active work areas.
Traffic Signal Upgrades – Allen Blvd & Century Ave
Work continues through August 21. Temporary traffic signals are in place, but delays—especially during peak hours—should be expected. Signal timing has been optimized, but single-lane traffic and unpredictable flow are affecting efficiency.
Traffic Signal Upgrades – HWY Q & HWY M
Due to complex underground conditions, directional boring is no longer possible. Crews are open-trenching across the intersection, which may cause lane reductions and delays during off-peak hours. Work continues through August 21. Please drive carefully through the work zone.
High Road Closure (Weekdays Only)
High Road remains closed during daytime construction hours through August 15. The road reopens each evening for local access. Emergency access remains available.
No Parking Zones (Spring Hill, Lynn, Graber, High Rd)
24/7 parking restrictions continue in affected areas to support detour routes for the Parmenter project. Please observe signage and drive cautiously.
