Middleton Hills Water Flushing Alert

The City of Middleton Water Utility has been made aware that a private main (not maintained by the City) was flushed this morning in the Middleton Hills area. Flushing mains and hydrants can stir up mineral sedimentation in the system. If you are experiencing brown or discolored water in your home, we advise that homeowners open the largest, lowest cold water tap in the house and flush the system for 10-15 minutes, which will typically clear sediment from the lines. Homeowners should avoid using hot water until the lines run clear. Alternatively, you can flush from an exterior tap, watering the lawn, landscape, or gardens. Thank you for your understanding.
