The High Wind Warning refers to sustained 25 to 35 mph winds with gusts up to 65 mph. Our area could potentially see 40 to 50 mph winds for up to 12 hours.
There is also the potential for thunderstorms, and we could see brief higher winds, potentially in the 70 to 80 mph range, in a storm. It looks like the greatest threat is along with the Wisconsin/Iowa border between 6-8 pm, but there is also the potential for storms in our area from 8-10 pm.
