Request for Variances from the City of Middleton Zoning Ordinance

The City of Middleton Zoning Board of Appeals will hold public hearings and consider taking action on the following applications for variances:
- 6508 Oakwood Place (Parcel ID 0708-123-1714-7): The owner, Amy Roen-Kim, is requesting a zoning variance to construct a 12’ x 18’ deck (including a staircase extending down from its west side) whose outer edge would be located between 3 and 8 feet from the right side lot line. The staircase portion of the deck represents an increase in the footprint of the deteriorated deck which this structure would replace. Section 10.22(4)(f) requires a deck on this R1-zoned lot to be set back at least 8 ft. from a side or rear lot line.
- 7010 Maywood Ave. (Parcel ID 0708-111-7488-4): The owner, John Mitmoen, is requesting a zoning variance for the purpose of constructing a 7’ x 12’ addition above an exposed basement. The first-floor addition would be located 28 feet (including a 12 inch roof overhang) from the rear lot line. Section 10.24(6) requires a principal structure on this R1-zoned lot to be set back at least 30 feet from the rear lot line.
During the hearing, all interested persons will have an opportunity to speak or register their opinion. The Zoning Board of Appeals may take action following the hearing.
