Request for Variance from Height Limitation Zoning Ordinance
Greenway Center Lots 3 & 4 on Pleasant View Rd.
(just beyond northeast corner of Pleasant View Golf Course)
Joseph M. Lee of JLA Architects, on behalf of property owner Jeff Straubel, is requesting approval of a variance from the maximum height allowed for structures located near Middleton Municipal Airport—Morey Field (also known by airport code “C29”). The City’s Height Limitation Zoning Ordinance (Sec. 10.95) protects navigable airspace within three miles of the airport. The applicant is requesting approval to construct “Pleasant View Park Apartments”, a 210-unit, 14-story residential building that would extend to an elevation of 1,197 feet above mean sea level. The city’s HLZO map identifies a height of 1,115 feet at this site, which is currently vacant.
Description of affected property: GREENWAY CENTER WEST LOT 4 SUBJ TO PEDESTRIAN ESMT (TAX PARCEL NO: 255-0708-103-6304-7) and GREENWAY CENTER WEST LOT 3 SUBJ TO PEDESTRIAN ESMT (TAX PARCEL NO: 255-0708-103-6203-9.) During the hearing, all interested persons will have an opportunity to speak or register their opinion. The Zoning Board of Appeals may take action following the hearing.
