The Bauman Community Pool, an outdoor facility includes a zero-depth pool entrance, an eight-lane competition pool, as well as a diving well. Other attractions at the center include two 134-foot run waterslides, interactive water play equipment, a sand playground, and a concession area. The center has 11,510 square feet of water surface, holds 345,580 gallons of water, and has an in-water guest capacity of 662 people. The concession stand offers a full assortment of food and beverage items during public swim times.

Ready to make a splash? Day passes are sold at the pool — on the day you swim! No need to dive into websites or wade through City Hall — just float on over and grab your pass at the front desk. We’ll be poolside and ready to help! Passes can be purchased on the day of, right at the pool. Fees: $6 or a season pass.
Open Swim: Enjoy fun with friends and family at our open swim sessions. This includes our pool, slides, and diving well!
- Swim breaks for adults only are scheduled each open swim session from 2:30 pm - 2:45 pm and 4:15 pm to 4:30 pm.
Lap Swim: For responsible guests who plan to move from one side to the other in a lane. Lanes are shared.
Adult Lap Swim: For guests 18+ who plan on moving from one side to another in a lane. Lanes are shared.
Family Swim: Bring your family and fun toys and floaties to enjoy at the pool!
Pool Closing Criteria
The Bauman Community Pool may close for the following reasons. In the event of a closing, we will attempt to reopen. Should a closing occur, refunds are not available.
Air Temperature / Air Quality:
The Bauman Community Pool will be closed if the air temperature is 60 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. In the event of an air quality alert, the pool may be closed as recommended by Public Health. Please visit our webpage or social media for the latest announcements.
Thunder/Lightning:
If lightning is seen and/or thunder is heard, participants will be asked to exit the water until there is no thunder or lightning for 30 minutes. The timer resets every time thunder and lightning occur.
Low Attendance:
If 40 or fewer people attend for 2 hours, the center may close early.
Contamination:
We are required to clear the pool for 30 minutes to 24 hours based on the type of contamination.

Adult Lap Swim is for guests 18 years of age or older. Lanes are available on a first come first serve basis and shared with others as necessary.

Weather Policy- The Bauman Community Pool will close when the National Weather Service issues a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning for the City of Middleton. Pool guests shall seek immediate shelter in the case of a severe weather warning.
When thunderstorms are forecast for the City of Middleton, Pool employees shall watch/listen for lightning/thunder. As soon as lightning/thunder is seen/heard, all activities shall be suspended or postponed until at least 30 minutes after the last lightning bolt is seen/thunder is heard.
Pool Closure Policy-If pool must close due to weather, mechanical issues, fecal incident or other unplanned event, refunds will not be provided.

Become a Water Safety Instructor!
The Water Safety Instructor, also known as WSI™, course trains instructor candidates to teach all of the courses presented in the Swimming and Water Safety program to all age groups. This certification is the gold standard and provides the most comprehensive training for swim instructors.
Prerequisites:
- Demonstrate the ability to perform the following swimming skills:
- 25 yards of: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly; treading water for 2 minutes using only your legs and maintaining a back float for 1 minute.
- 15 yards of butterfly
- 1 minute of back float
- 1 minute of treading water
- Reach the age of 16 by the end of the course.
- After you successfully complete the course, you will receive an American Red Cross certificate for water Safety Instructor, valid for 2 years.
Become a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard!
The Bauman Community Pool needs lifeguards, so whether you are looking for a great summer job or a career as a professional lifeguard, it all starts with the training! You will learn the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for different medical emergencies, illnesses, and injuries until EMS personnel arrive.
Prerequisites:
- Be 15 years of age on or before the last day of the class.
- Swim 300 yards (12 lengths of the pool) without stopping.
- Tread water for 2 minutes by only using your legs.
- Retrieve a submerged, 10 lb. object from 7-10 feet of water and return to the starting point in 1:40 seconds.
- After you successfully complete the course, you will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/ First Aid/ CPR/ AED, valid for 2 years.
