Commercial Water Conservation Program
The City of Middleton Water Utility is offering the following programs to commercial customers (includes commercial, industrial, public authority, and multi-family housing of three units or more). Customers may pursue any one or all of the following:

Installation
Owners may install the toilets and pre-rinse spray valves themselves, or they may hire a plumber or contractor to do the job. Owners are responsible for proper installation and associated costs. Installation may be subject to verification by building inspection personnel. Toilets and pre-rinse spray valves may be purchased at any supplier as long as they are on the applicable WaterSense list.
Rebates
Rebate checks of up to $100 (not to exceed actual purchase price) for toilets and up to $25 (not to exceed actual purchase price) for pre-rinse spray valves will be sent to the customer’s address after the applications are processed. Please allow six to eight weeks. Rebates are not available for the costs of taxes or installation.
Disposal of Old Toilets / Pre-Rinse Spray Valves
Replaced toilets and pre-rinse spray valves should be disposed of so that they cannot be re-used.

The City of Middleton Water Utility is offering the following programs to commercial customers (includes commercial, industrial, public authority, and multi-family housing of three units or more). Customers may pursue any one or all of the following:
- Water efficiency audit reimbursements of 50% of the cost of the audit
- Rebates of up to $100 for commercial customers who replace old or inefficient toilets with EPA WaterSense-rated High Efficiency Toilet (HET) models.
- Rebates of up to $25 for commercial customers who replace old or inefficient pre-rinse spray valves with WaterSense-rated models.
Eligibility
- Participants in the program must be commercial (commercial, industrial, public authority, or multi-family housing of three units or more) customers of the City of Middleton Water Utility.
- This program is limited to one water audit per customer per year.
- The Water Utility will reimburse commercial customers 50% of the cost of a water efficiency audit. Commercial customers who are interested in taking advantage of the water efficiency audit reimbursements should fill out the water audit application form so that funds can be earmarked for the audit. Funds will be held for a period of 60 days from the date of City approval of the application. If a claim is not made within 60 days, the funds will be made available to other customers wishing to take advantage of the program.
- The City will require a proof of payment and a copy of the written water audit report prior to reimbursing 50% of the costs.
- The audit must be undertaken by an independent auditor.
- This program is subject to change at the City reserves the right to refuse an audit reimbursement to a customer who does not meet the criteria.
- This program is limited to one toilet rebate per customer per year and one pre-rinse spray valve rebate per customer per year.
- Eligible replacement toilets must be HETs listed on the EPA WaterSense website and must be compliant with the City of Middleton Plumbing Code and the City of Middleton Cross Connection Ordinance.
- Eligible replacement pre-rinse spray valves must be high efficiency and listed on the EPA WaterSense website and must be compliant with the City of Middleton Plumbing Code.
- Pre-rinse spray valve rebates are for replacing the head only, not the trigger handle.
- Rebates are for replacement of existing larger-capacity toilets and existing pre-rinse spray valves, and are not for new construction.
- Rebates are first-come, first-served, until funding is exhausted annually.
To apply for the rebate, you must submit two items:
- The original, dated sales receipt for the toilet or pre-rinse spray valve showing purchase price of the fixture and the manufacturer’s model name and number. Receipts are valid for 60 days after purchase date. (You should keep a photocopy of your receipt). The receipt must be dated on or after January 1, 2016 to qualify for the rebate.
- A completed Application form.
