Pool Information 

The Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center will open for the season of operation on June 9. The outdoor facility includes zero-depth pool entrance, an eight lane competition pool, as well as a diving well. Other attractions at the center include two 134-foot run waterslides, interactive water play equipment, sand playground, and a concession area. The center has 11,510 square feet of water surface, holds 345,580 gallons of water, and has an in-water patron capacity of 662 people. The concession stand offers a full assortment of food and beverage items during public swim times.

There are a limited number of lawn chairs available, however, patrons may bring their own lawn chairs for use in grass areas.

Season Passes

Purchase your 2023 Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center Season Passes starting April 1, 2023! Middleton Residents receive 10% off 4/1 thru 4/30! (Discount does not include non-residents)

  • Resident Includes the City of Middleton and Middleton-Cross Plains School District.
  • Passes are non-refundable.
  • Family Members must be living at the same address to be included in family pass. A total of 6 family members may be on the same pass. Each additional family member is $25.00 (up to 3 max).
  • All pass members must have a physical pass to enter facility. If pass is not present, patron must pay daily admission. Replacement passes are $5.00 per person.
  • 18 months and under are free and do not require a pass or photo. Any child over 18 months must receive a photo and a physical pass.
  • Photos can be taken at the Parks & Recreation office during office hours or at the Aquatic Center. Photos must be on file to receive the physical pass.

How to purchase your pool pass:

  3. Passes cannot be purchased at the Aquatic Center. Only photos and passes can be administered at the Aquatic Center meaning that passes would need to be purchased online.

Photos & Physical Passes:

  • If pass is purchased online you must either have your photo on file or each member must get photo taken.
    • Photos can be taken at the Parks & Rec office or at the Aquatic Center
    • Once photo is on file and pass is purchased for the 2023 season, the physical pass will be administered to each family member/individual
  • Passes with barcode on back can be used from year to year. At the start of the season a replacement/new pass will be provided. During the season all lost and damaged passes will be replaced with a $5.00 fee.
  • Physical pass must be present to enter into facility. If pass is not present admission fee will be assessed.

There will be ONE session available. Open swim hours are 1-6pm.

You pay at the door.  Admission to the facility is by cash, Visa/Mastercard or season pass.  If you use a credit card,  the process will be longer. 

We must clear the pool of all swimmers in the case of lightning and/or thunder. We will reopen if possible. NO refunds will be given for unforeseen closures including weather or contamination.

Special Events 

Since the pool has closed for the season, we have no more special events planned. Check back next summer!


Aquatic Center Closing Procedures 

The Aquatic Center may close for the following reasons. In the event of a closing, we will attempt to reopen if possible. Should a closing occur, refunds are not available.

Inclement Weather - If the air temperature is less than 60 degrees, or if it is raining heavily or thundering and/or lightning, the Aquatic Center will be closed. 

Low Attendance - If there are 40 or fewer people in attendance for 2 hours, the WBAC may close early. 

Contamination - Should a water contamination event occur; we are required to clear the pool for a specified amount of time-based on the type of contamination.
